Where to start?

Posted in: News by Logos on December 4, 2009

People have been inquiring how long it will take for our next release. The truth is, all recent work has not made it past simple sketches and drafts. A number of personal and defeating reasons are to blame for the lack of motivation, chiefly on my part…and I take responsibility for talking about new work on the horizon without delivering.

I miss you my friend…my life is not the same without you. I want you back, but so much times has past, will I know you? Will I see it is you? I thought that I needed to be patient and let you come to me, but you have gone far away, and I need to seek you now. I, and others want you back…music, I love you.

I think it will be fitting for a new start. This has happened a few times in the past where all current ideas are thrown away, this too is a partial reason as to why nothing new has been unearthed…there is so much to be heard, but nothing finished and worthy of hearing at the moment.

I do not want to let you down my friends…keep faith, we are not dead…and thank you for the support.

New work

Posted in: Uncategorized by Logos on August 1, 2009

Pre-production on the new release is still being worked on…but the ideas are a bit more solid and should begin to be worked out shortly. Many jams on new material have been accomplished and things are looking…or rather, SOUNDING good.

Stay tuned.

What is on the horizon?

Posted in: Uncategorized by Logos on July 13, 2009

Tnol has been relatively absent for some time. This is mainly due to lack of collaboration. There has been some discussion as of late…and it has been decided that we are far overdue for some new material to be released.

There have been discussions on what we should do. We have worked with drone and field recordings. We have dabbled with down-tempo and orchestral themes. We have worked on experimental audio with guitars and with things as simple as rain.

We have always stated that we want to change…evolve. This new work will do just that. It will obviously have familiar qualities…but will also breath new life into what we are and what we do. We must challenge ourselves to create new journeys. Make sure you are prepared for it.

Posted in: Media by Logos on February 22, 2009

Yes, its true, we are releasing another album! Its titled: Serenade.

serenade

Don’t get super excited just yet…This is a 60 minute rain storm, nothing more. If you want 60 minutes of rain and thunder, then this is for you. If not…pass it on by.

This is a compilation of samples by Richard Humphries from freesound.org

This album was composed for my girlfriend, but I decided that some people may want something like this. Enjoy!

The love of fans

Posted in: News by Logos on February 6, 2009

Well…I was not going to post this, but thought to myself…why not.

This was a comment left by someone visiting the site. I thought after so many people have let us know how much they enjoy our music…that some of you would get a kick out of this. Imagine if every musician was like this, how fucked up things would be.

This is the response I sent this person.

Hello friends! Well, here we are again! The Nature of Light’s Third album is officially released!

Please follow the link to Webbed Hand Records and download the album.

Get it now!!!

***
This album was recorded ENTIERLY with guitar…there are no synths on the album AT ALL…yet hearing where the guitar is will not always be easy to hear.

Read the fine print as it explains how much of it was accomplished. Thank you and if you like it, please leave comments! Very Happy

I figure many of you here will enjoy as it is a fusion of electronic and analog.

New album is upon us ::

Posted in: News by Logos on February 2, 2009

TNOL is preparing for our third full length release entitled: Atropos.

The album will once again be released via webbed hand records (a super big thanks to chris for the continuing support of our work!)

The album is 6 tracks, closing in at 32 minutes! We did not supply any demo/sketch tracks, but a very similar track was supplied on WHR’s String Ambient compilation which can be found here: String Ambient

This was an early version of one of the Atropos tracks.

We are excited about this release, as it has been close to a year since an official album has been heard. We are very excited and newly driven to work on MORE material! We are in pre-production on our next album already and will actually keep you guys up to date on the progress of this one, we promise!

Also, as mentioned in the past…stay tuned for collaborative efforts with some highly regarded audio magicians in the near future.

New workstation is coming!

Posted in: News by Logos on January 6, 2009

Hello folks…well, she finally died. The workstation that all of TNOL’s music was composed and mixed on….DIED! It was a long time coming, her video card was bad…and was already replaced once under warranty. I couldnt see dropping money on getting it fixed, so I just bought a new workstation.

The reason this is relevant is because the NIGHT that she died was the night I was going to send our next album out to be polished up with our mastering engineer. So…long story short…our new album will be dropped as soon as I get that new computer, send our files off and they get did up right.

We will release the album name as soon as it is in the hands of Chris over @ webbed hand.
